Rich finished our series “God our Hope,” by preaching from 1 Peter 5:6-14. Life is a war, and we must keep fighting our two main enemies–one internal and one external. But we have a hope, the greatest hope, Jesus the Savior and Victor over sin and death!
This Sunday Jon preached a message from 1 Peter 5:1-5 about the importance of gospel-centered, biblical pastors. This passage is specifically addressed to pastors, but it has application for the church as well. Faithful churches need faithful pastors, so listen to hear what qualities we can look for and appreciate in faithful pastors.
Rich preached from 1 Peter 4:12-19 a powerful message on suffering and affliction for the Christian. The good news that Peter gives us is that while suffering says “you are alone,” Scripture (both the Old and New Testaments) says, “you are NOT alone.”
Rich finished up preaching from the section in 1 Peter 4:7-11. Part 2 of this passage focused on hospitality and using the gifts God has given us.
Rich preached from 1 Peter 4:7-11, giving two ways in which a Christian can glorify God with their life.
We returned to the book of 1 Peter as Rich preached from chapter 4, verses 1-6. We all feel the ticking of the clock, the passing of time, but the Bible offers a different rhythm–the beat of eternity.
Listen to this sermon Rich preached from 1 Peter 3:13-22 on two things that we often fear, and see how fear never has the final word.
What does it mean to “bless?” Rich preached from 1 Peter 3:8-12, showing us what it means to “actively seek to show goodness to another.”
Jon Payne preached from 1 Peter 3:7 this Sunday. Last week’s message was for wives, and this week’s message is for husbands. What is the calling of a Christian husband? And what does a gospel-shaped marriage look like?
Have you ever wondered what is the Bible’s definition of submission? Rich preached this Sunday from 1 Peter 3:1-6 a special sermon addressed to wives/women about what it means to submit to their husbands. Find out 3 things it does say submission is and 9 things that it does not. Next week, the text will be addressed to husbands/men.
“It is a gracious thing to mindful of God in the midst of suffering.” Rich resumed our series, God our Hope, by preaching a tough message from 1 Peter 2:18-25 on the topic of unjust suffering.
Jason preached this Sunday from a difficult passage in 1 Peter 2:13-17 on submitting and serving. Listen as he unfolds how our trust should be vertical (in God), not horizontal (in man).
Rich is taking on us on a “lightning” pace through 1 Peter by preaching from 1 Peter 2:11-12 this week (yes, 2 verses! So fast!). This message uses words such as “pilgrims,” “exiles,” and “sojourners,” as well as metaphors such as a fast food reference of “for here or to go?” Listen to find out what all this means.
“You yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” Rich preached from 1 Peter 2:4-10 about how we no longer need temples because God has built his people to be his spiritual house. Nothing stands in the way of us having access to God through the blood of Jesus Christ.
Rich shows us from 1 Peter how we can love strenuously and love authentically as believers. Listen as he ends chapter 1 and breaks into chapter 2 of our series God our Hope: 1 Peter.
Rich preached this Sunday about how God is different from us, and yet he is our Father. We are adopted, purchased with the blood of Jesus. Listen as this sermon explores the depths of our adoption into God’s family.
Rich preaches from 1 Peter 1:13-21 to give the answer to the question, “How then shall we live?” The simple answer: be different. Listen to the message to hear more.
Rich preaches from 1 Peter 1:10-12, where he discusses two groups in regards to salvation: those on the outside and those on the inside.
Rich preached this Sunday from 1 Peter 1:6-9, focusing on our ability to rejoice in hope, despite our sufferings. Our trials may be normal, but when we hope in Jesus our Savior, we have reason to have great joy!
Rich begins the series in 1 Peter, God our Hope. Just within the first 5 verses, we find that hope is sturdier than just wishful thinking, because hope comes from our Savior who lives. We have a living hope!
